Toronto Aug 21-22

I had a great time hanging out with these youth from Cornerstone Youth from West Lorne. Friday 11 Students and 7 leaders headed to Toronto and were able to go on a streetwalk with The Gateway. Anthony a man who was homeless for a huge portion of his life, led us around the city, showing us the different areas where he sleep, eat, did drugs and got stabbed. He told us many of his stories as he helped to expose us more to what actually goes on out there. We were able to have a question and answer period with him as well. You can pray for Anthony, as he came clean 5 years ago, but just cant explain it. Anthony isnt a Christian, although he knows of God, and knows what a Christian is as he works along side many great ones at the Gateway. Be praying for him that he may have his eyes opened to see that only by Gods power is he now clean of drugs and off the streets.
After our street walk, we spent the evening preparing and packing the lunches/socks/Gospels for the next day.

Saturday we hit the streets at about the lunch hour, splitting into 2 teams, heading two directions. We had a chance to hand out almost 100 lunches, pairs of socks and Gospel of John's. The youth did awesome, covering about 64 square KM's of Toronto's downtown, zig zagging back and forth, and up and down every street we could to find the homeless. They couldnt have made this happen without their awesome leaders.

Here are some of the names you can pray for that "Team Sketchy" talked to.

Brian
John - Same John we see everytime we Hit the Streets. He now has been staying with a friend, rather then under the bridge. He is still in very rough shape, his hands were in such poor condition we had to open his water bottle for him.
Terry
Weedman - guys sign said "need money for weed" - how blunt, and how sad..
Ed
Kevin ~ sign said - "will take verbal abuse for money”
Clinton
Michael
Dorothy ~ lost her id and can't do anything without it.
David ~ recovering alcoholic, "recovered"
Gary
John ~ health, having seizures
George ~ got shot in the shoulder and foot, be praying that it heals properly, as its exposed to tons of dirty conditions.
Michael
Gary~ peace, harmony for the world.
Button, Eric, and Kat ~ all depressed cause friend Seth just left them, is walking to Nunavut, he held them together.
Mark
Franklin
Dan

These are just a few of the people we were able to extend mercy to this past weekend. Please be praying for them, and for the others, that God would touch their lives and deliver them from bondage's/additions and pain both physical and emotional from feelings of abandonment etc.

Thanks for your prayers. And thank you West Lorne Baptist for enabling these teens to have a chance to feed the homeless both physically and spiritually. Blessings

Was out in Peterborough Today. Ran into a few familiar faces.
David after debating with himself for awhile ended up taking up my offer on dinner. As we were talking i was asking him if he believed in anything and at that point he was more interested in his food. Pray for david as he has major health issues which even restricts him most days from going to the streets to beg.
Andre, like always with a positive attitude kindly rejected the offer of food after he tells me the story of his morning. He spent 3 hours begging, making $20. Unfortunatly with that money he was looking to buy some Pot, the guy he tried to buy off, ripped him off and stole the 20. Andre tells me that must be a lesson he has to learn, he feels the need to stop that stuff anyways. He was thankful to know that i would be praying for him and staying clean.

Keep these guys in your prayers.

Things are under way at HTS this year, as fundraising for this year slowly but surely coming in allowing us to go and feed some people this summer.

There are already a few trips planned with youth groups, but still would love for more to sign up and just go to Toronto for a day trip even, so please be praying for that.

Thanks for your continual prayers and be checking in regularly to see whats happening throughout this summer.

Blessings.
